Zillions of cows are now being killed to stop global warming. This time the culprit isn’t Al Gore. The murderer is McDonald’s restaurants. At least the ones in metro Japan.
The killing quickened after a Japanese government website began offering coupons for half-price Big Macs to people who pledged to fight global warming by filling out a survey. Web visitors go through a list of 39 ways they can reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Once they’re at the restaurant, customers wanting bargain BMs can present a printed questionnaire or show their results via cell phone.
So far, carbon emissions have not dropped in Japan, but plenty of cows have. Surely even Chik-Fil-A can’t be happy about this.

When people buy meat, in this case cows, they don't really disappear or go away. If there is demand in the market for cows, more and more cows will be produced to supply that demand. Assuming Japanese producers supply all the beef to it's McDonalds, if the discounted Big Macs were made permanent Japan would begin producing (and they are produced like any other commodity)more cows and wind up with more cows than before. This is the law of supply and demand. Lower prices mean more demand and if that demand remains suppliers will produce more to meet that demand. Hoo-ray economics!
Then I guess we should put more animals from the endangered species list on menus everywhere. I am up for some spotted owl stew.
It's pretty obvious your wit exceeds your intelligence, and that's not saying much.
